Enamel & 24K Gold Artisan Necklace

This one-of-a-kind necklace combines layers of color, texture, and 24K gold in a small wearable work of art.

The round copper disk is hand enameled with an abstract design in warm earthy tones accented with red, black, and touches of blue. Irregular pieces of 24K gold foil are fused into the enamel, adding flashes of rich gold throughout the design. A final layer of clear glass is fired over the surface to protect the enamel and gold while giving the piece its smooth finish.

The enamel disk is framed in sterling silver and held securely with handcrafted sterling silver prongs. I especially like the contrast between the contemporary abstract enamel and the simple silver setting—it allows the artwork itself to remain the focus.

The pendant hangs from a warm brown leather cord that complements the earthy colors in the enamel.
