Marcasite & Black Agate Sterling Silver Necklace

A large Marcasite in Black Agate stone is the focal point of this one-of-a-kind necklace. The agate has dramatic areas of black, gray and soft cream, scattered with naturally occurring metallic marcasite inclusions. A small druzy pocket adds another bit of natural texture and sparkle to the stone.

The stone is set in a lightly textured sterling silver bezel. Above it, curved sterling silver wires create an open, freeform design that follows the irregular character of the stone without competing with it.

The back of the setting is open, allowing the reverse side of the agate to remain visible. The pendant is finished with my maker’s mark and silver purity hallmark.

An open-link sterling silver cable chain completes the necklace.
