Sea Sediment Jasper Sterling Silver Dangle Earrings
Rich turquoise-blue Sea Sediment Jasper gives these handcrafted earrings their beautiful color and natural character. Each long, tapered teardrop stone displays its own pattern of earthy tan and brown matrix, creating a complementary pair while preserving the individual variations found in the stone.
Sea Sediment Jasper is particularly interesting because of its connection to ancient marine environments, where layers of mineral-rich sediment accumulated and transformed over time. Those natural mineral deposits contribute to the varied colors and intricate patterns that make each stone unique.
Above the jasper, dimensional sterling silver flowers have individually formed and textured petals, adding an organic element to the design. The flowers serve as the post tops, allowing the elongated gemstones to move freely below.
The Sea Sediment Jasper stones are set in handcrafted sterling silver bezels. The silver has been oxidized (blackened) and polished to emphasize the texture and details of the flowers while providing contrast against the vivid blue-green stones. Sterling silver posts with push backs complete the earrings.
Each pair is individually handcrafted by me in my Arizona studio, from fabricating the silver settings and flowers to setting the stones and completing the final finish.
